I do remember getting rather annoyed at all the blushing scenes. I haven't read it in awhile and can't speak for how well that's been working out.
Misaki is abrasive in the beginning of the manga, and I'm pretty sure she's supposed to be transitioning to strong. Not only is it gross, but it's not even any fun to read about.Īs for being strong or being soft, being strong isn't the same as being abrasive. That said, though, I do agree with the whole depowermenting independant-heroines-can-no-longer-live-without-a-man shoujo trope. I'd hate to still be the same person I was in secondary school. Also hopefully, if you're in a long-term relationship, you grow up and mellow out. No, you don't and shouldn't change your person when you're in love, but if it's a good sort of love, it'll bring out parts of you you didn't know existed, broaden your worldview, and sharpen your mind. Or well, I loved it so much way back when I used to keep up with it monthly.Īlthough I would slightly disagree with the poster below me. So read up on this manga you won't be disappointed! And like people say, love can really change a person and the fact that she blushes a lot means she really love the Usui and this also add a sense of realism to the story. No one stays the same forever and since Misaki does evolve through the series, there is character development in this story! And about Misaka's past, I am pretty sure it will be unveiled but as of right now it's not important for her to have her past revealed to the audience to advance the plot since the story is about their relationship and not her past, it doesn't really help the story as of now other than make Misaki a more dynamic character. She goes from strong and as another reviewer said, kickass to a more willing and kind protagonist.
This is an amazing series, don't be discourage by the other reviewers stating that only the beginning of this series is good, in my opinion this is very untrue! Sure the now Misaki is different from the beginning of the story and that is to be expected because that's her character development. Maybe with a child?! There was TOO MUCH SEXUAL TENSION THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE SERIES to let that go away!! I just hope that the final arc will AT LEAST hint to us that those two finally did it with each other. Maybe the Royal Line situation will break them up temporarily.and then Igarashi will interrupt and etc! but other than that, I can't see the main plot getting into another arc without dragging. How can plot develop afterwards? I mean, they love each other too much for any interruption from the outside. It's because the two main characters' chase for each other has ended a long time ago. He just confessed to her and now this manga's ending?! There's too many loose ends to this story that can be tied into a beautiful rope (including with the royal family issue, the author hinted further development but I hope she goes through with the hint.)! WHY DOES IT END NOW?! Well, I think I know. It was just too little! His sneaky character did not even make a last act to pursuit for Masaki. Although we all know this feel-good manga will end with Misaki and Takumi together, I still want to see some tension going on with Tora Igarashi.
